This holiday cottage is in the heart of Kent, “The Garden of
England”.
Kent's place as the Garden of England dates back over 400 years
to when Henry VIII enjoyed a dish of Kent cherries so much that
he was personally responsible for many of the orchards planted
in Kent which to this day produce the finest fresh fruit.
Gamekeeper Cottage is a self-catering holiday cottage which is
set in a rural location close to Sissinghurst Castle, between
Sissinghurst and Biddenden, in Kent. It is ideal for exploring
Kent, Southern England, the coast and London. Access to
Continental Europe by ferry, Eurostar or Channel Tunnel is a
short drive away.
Central London is only one hour away by train
from the nearby mainline stations of Staplehurst or Headcorn.
There are 3-4 trains an hour. By car, the journey time to
central London is 60-90 minutes.
Ashford is 25 minutes away and Eurostar trains
to Paris leave regularly from Ashford International Station with
a journey time to Paris of only 1 hour 50 minutes. The Channel
Tunnel at Folkestone is 40 minutes away and the ferries at Dover
are a 50 minute drive away.
Gatwick Airport is one hour away by car. There
are also trains from Gatwick airport to Staplehurst, via
Tonbridge. Heathrow and Stansted Airports are 1 hour 45 minutes
drive away.
The nearest shops and pubs are one mile away in
Sissinghurst and Biddenden. Larger shops and amenities can be
found in Cranbrook (3 miles), Tenterden (6 miles), Maidstone,
Ashford, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells. The Cinque Port of Rye,
1066 Country and the southern coast are a short drive away.
